Frequently Asked Questions

Below are frequently asked questions from homeowners with answers provided.  Please use them as a convenient guide to living in Park East, but in a case of any discrepency between these questions and the Rules & Regulations, the Rules & Regulations shall prevail, available for download on the Documents page.

No, garbage cannot be put on the curb until the day of pickup.

Garbage would be put out the day after the regular pick up.

No, nothing can be attached to the outside of your unit.

Residents are allowed to park in guest parking for a short time during the day, but never overnight.

If you have an overnight guest that needs to park in guest parking, please contact the Property Manager and let her know your intentions to avoid being towed.

There is no street parking at Park East, violators will be towed.  Please advise guests to use guest parking.

If you choose to plant, it can only be in the dirt area adjacent to your home.

Anything planted by an owner in the dirt areas adjacent to their home is their responsibility, not the Association’s.  The owner is responsible for caring for these plantings, and removing any dead plants in the fall.

You may plant flowers or small bushes.  Also, no arborvitaes are allowed at Park East any longer.  If you wish to plant anything else, you need Board approval.  Please contact the Property Manager for more information.

Every homeowner is responsible for watering around their home as well as common areas near their home.  Our landscape is one of our best assets and it takes a community to care for it all.  There are no watering restrictions.

It is never appropriate to feed the geese or birds at Park East.  Their feces breed disease and have killed homeowners’ pets in the past.

You need to submit a proposal to the Board for approval before any work is begun.  Please contact the Property Manager for more information.

A proposal needs to be submitted to the Board before installation.  No satellite dishes maybe attached to the roof under any circumstances.  Please contact the Property Manager for more information.

 In the interest of keeping our property beautiful, you must pick up after your dog every time.  Fines will be assessed for noncompliance.

Dogs can never be leashed outside of your home unattended.

 Contact the Property Manager and inform her of the situation.  It is important to document the problem and how often it occurs

All new storm doors have to match the trim of your building or be white.

 Your windows must match the trim of your building exactly; a proposed color must be submitted to the Board before installing to be approved.  Please contact the Property Manager for more information.

Yes, you can install vinyl or wood windows.

There is only one garage sale allowed at Park East, the community sale, which occurs annually during the summer.  Individual homeowners’ sales are not allowed under any circumstances.

For-sale signs for individual homes are not allowed at any time.  Open-house signs are allowed the day of the open house only.

Any homeowner can run for the board; elections are held at our general meeting in November.  Contact the Property Manager for more information.

Each unit was provided two mailbox keys when the mailboxes were installed.  If you have lost both of them, your only option is to contact a locksmith.  The Association does not keep spare keys.

Contact the Property Manager to arrange for a replacement.  Your front light bulbs will be replaced with the exact same bulb and wattage.  All of our homes’ lights need to look the same.
