Fireworks Safety Reminder

As we approach the holiday, the Park East Board of Directors would like to remind all residents to celebrate safely and responsibly.

Illinois law prohibits many consumer fireworks, including firecrackers, bottle rockets, Roman candles, aerial shells, and other explosive fireworks. Only certain novelty items permitted under Illinois law may be legally possessed and used.

Because our community has experienced significant fire damage, we ask all residents and guests to use extra caution and comply with all applicable state and local laws regarding fireworks. Fireworks can pose a serious risk to people, pets, buildings, and surrounding property.

If you witness the use of illegal fireworks, please contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at 847-549-5200. If there is an immediate threat to life or property, call 911.
